🕯️ DAY 1 — A Flicker of Hope
Prompt:
Write about one moment in your life—recent or long ago—when you felt held by God, even for a heartbeat.
What did that small spark feel like?
Scripture:
“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” — John 1:5
Prayer:
God of unfailing light, thank You for the small sparks that keep me going. Kindle my hope today, even if it feels faint. Let Your light shine in me in ways I cannot yet see. Amen.
🕯️ DAY 2 — Filled With His Light
Prompt:
Sit with the words “fill you with all joy and peace.”
Where do you feel empty?
Where do you long to feel filled again?
Scripture:
“For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light.” — Psalm 36:9
Prayer:
Holy Spirit, pour Your gentle light into my weary places. Fill me with joy that steadies me and peace that softens the ache in my heart. Let me see light again. Amen.
🕯️ DAY 3 — The Hope That Overflows
Prompt:
Write about an area of your life where you long to overflow again—not with busyness or performance, but with hope.
What might overflow look like, even in a small way?
Scripture:
“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.” — Isaiah 60:1
Prayer:
Lord, help me rise into Your brightness. Even if I can only stand a little, or lift my head a little, meet me there. Let Your glory stir hope within me again. Amen.
🕯️ DAY 4 — Bringing the Shadows to God
Prompt:
Name one sorrow, fear, or heavy weight that dims your flame.
Write honestly—Advent makes space for lament as well as longing.
Scripture:
“Even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day.” — Psalm 139:12
Prayer:
God who sees in the dark, I bring You my shadows today. Hold them with tenderness. Shine gently on the places I hide from myself. Wrap me in Your comfort. Amen.
🕯️ DAY 5 — Kindled by the Spirit
Prompt:
Listening quietly, ask the Holy Spirit:
“What do You want to kindle in me today?”
Write whatever rises, even if it is only one word.
Scripture:
“The spirit of man is the lamp of the Lord, searching all his innermost parts.” — Proverbs 20:27
Prayer:
Holy Spirit, breathe on my little lamp. Search my deepest places with kindness. Kindle courage, tenderness, hope—whatever You delight to ignite in me today. Amen.
🕯️ DAY 6 — Strength for the Flame
Prompt:
Think of one thing that helps your flame stay lit—rest, quiet, scripture, nature, a friend.
Write about how you can welcome a little more of that into your life this week.
Scripture:
“The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear?” — Psalm 27:1
Prayer:
Light of my life, strengthen what is fragile in me. Protect what is glowing. Remind me that I do not face this season alone, for You are my salvation and my song. Amen.
🕯️ DAY 7 — A Candle of Gratitude
Prompt:
Look back over the week.
What tiny signs of grace emerged—something gentle, kind, hopeful, or unexpected?
Write a short list of “little lights.”
Scripture:
“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” — Psalm 119:105
Prayer:
Faithful God, thank You for every small light You have placed along my path. Help me see and cherish them. Let my heart lean into Your steady guidance as I walk into the coming week. Amen.
